I received my initial training at the Academy of Natural Healing in London under the renowned Massage Training Institute and ITEC. I qualified as a Holistic Massage Practitioner and have furthered my career by also qualifying in Neuromuscular and Physical Therapy, Trigger Point Myofascial Dry Needling, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Reiki, Orthopaedic Sports Massage, Ayurvedic Massage and Chinese Cupping Massage.
I have also completed postgraduate courses and Workshops in Hot Stone Therapy, Holistic Pulsing, Indian Head Massage, and Immunity Care & Subtle Energy for Body workers, Working Deeper, Thai Yoga Massage, Reflexology for Cancer, and Counselling Skills for Clients Diagnosed with Cancer.
As well as membership of MTI and ITEC, I am also a member of the GCMT (General Council for Massage Therapy), ANMT (The Association of Neuromuscular and Physical Therapists), ARCHTI (Association of Registered Complementary Health Therapists of Ireland), FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapists) and IMTA (Irish Massage Therapists Association).
I run my own successful practice, I work carrying out complementary therapies and physical therapies in centres for Ability West and Brothers of Charity in Carraroe, Casla and Inverin, working with special needs children and adults. I am also work with local GAA teams, covering from Lettermore to Rosmuc and runners and rowers, in Connemara and Galway City in Health and Herbs Sea Road Galway.
I have completed voluntary work at the London Marathon, The Irish Centre in London and the Swiss Cottage Community Health Centre and the Connemara Marathon. I do presentations for local charities and businesses and onsite massage services in the corporate sector.
I am a Complementary Therapy Tutor and have just completed an ITEC Aromatherapy Course in Galway, new course dates will be available shortly. I am an IAIM qualified Infant Baby Massage Instructor and City and Guilds Qualified Tutor.
I am also working with the Carers Association of Ireland providing Stress and Lifeskills one day workshops and have just finished a course of evening classes in stress for the Department of Science and Education for the parents of teenagers in Carraroe School, Connemara.
